EF
teachers get free western-style shared
accommodation. At EF Yuyao, the teachers
live in a brand new complex near Fuda
Square in the centre of town. There are
two flats available, both are fully furnished
and include mod cons such as a telephone,
a washing machine, air conditioners and
a TV/dvd player. Broadband Internet service
can easily be set up for a small fee of
400 RMB for 6 months. Each bedroom has
a comfortable double bed and storage space
for clothes etc. The kitchens are fully
equipped for those who enjoy  cooking.
The complex has
an outdoor swimming pool and is conveniently
located near shops and restaurants. Most
teachers cycle to school everyday, this
takes about 15 minutes but a taxi ride
costs only 6 RMB and takes about 10 minutes.

hustle and bustle of the big city.
I don¡¯t miss commuting to work or
being stuck in traffic jams, I enjoy
being able to walk or cycle around

| Ever
since I started working at EF Yuyao,
I feel that I have developed as a
teacher. I¡¯ve taught all ages and
different levels of English. I¡¯ve
taught in a five star hotel and also
early learners from 4-6 years. I¡¯ve
hosted an English radio program and
have also been on TV. The most rewarding
experience was when I gave English
demos at a village school. If you
are looking for a challenge, I recommend

came back to Yuyao to spend time with
friends and to see how the school
had developed from when it first opened
in Jan 2005, I was the school¡¯s first
teacher! Living in Yuyao has helped
me to improve my spoken Chinese as
I have so many opportunities to practise.

I¡¯ve
bought a mountain bike in Yuyao and
have so much fun cruising around soaking
up Chinese culture, Yuyao is a really
easy town to ride around. My workmates
are all great as well, EF Yuyao is
like a small integrated family. A
good time had by all.
